England swimming pools, lakes and ponds

There are few things as refreshing as a jump in a cool Lake on a hot summer day. Those who probably have the luxury of having a home in the country we take this for granted, but city folk us well for this small utopias search.

London:

Serpentine swimming club: anyone who lives in London Hyde Park, and who know of Hyde Park, knows the Serpentine Gallery white. Also not too far from the Gallery is a lake which is open all year round swimming.

Hampstead mixed pond: the ponds to in Hampstead are daily to the public. There are also separate men and women ponds. It has swimming in the men's pond for more than ninety years, and a tradition than a club for chess, - weightlifter, readers and sun worshippers. There are stepping stones in the middle of the pond Highgate diving club practice in the 1930s where-used list.

Essex:

Kings oak swimming pool, high Beach: this pool was in the style of the 1930s and is heated up. It is now part of private North of Chingford. There is a large pub garden and a barbecue often goes. If the weather is hot and/or is holiday season in full swing, it can be very crowded. It's a full stretch on the back of the hotel and its pub is used Meet-Ups often with motorcycle club.

Tollesbury - Woodup pool: Woodup pool was opened since 1907. It is free swimming in and in the morning, a beautiful, quiet way start to swim lovers day is empty. There are salt marshes, boats, River, tides and wild animals in the area.

Cheshire:

Hatchmere, Delamere forest: This Lake was once a sinkhole as glacier ice in a depression in the ground melted. The water temperature is typically a warm 20 C in the summer. Hatchmere is a great place to enjoy an afternoon, have a picnic and be with the family.

Nantwich outdoor salt water pool: Nantwich is open since 1934 and is the last survivors in the inland salt water pool of the country. It remains the hot temperature of 74 c.

Devon:

Tinside Lido, hoe road, Plymouth, Devon: This Lido has a semi-circular pool of clear water with a water fountain in the Centre. It was built originally in 1935, but many years later, renovated in art deco style was.

Topsham, swimming pool, Devon: this is a newer pool, but what it lacks in the art deco heritage it makes up for in warmth and comfort. With solar panels on the roof, the pool is heated and ideal for children.
